SoWest: Desert Justice, an anthology of mystery stories, is now up on Amazon. Just click on the cover in this post and you’ll be there to buy a copy. My story, “A Season for Death”, is one of twenty written by Arizona authors who are members of the Desert Sleuths chapter of Sisters in Crime, a national organization to promote and assist women mystery/crime writers. We’ll have the official launch of the book this Saturday August 11th at our annual conference, this year with the theme “criminal minds” at the Millenium Resort in Scottsdale. (To register go to Desert Sleuths website.)
Here’s some advance praise for the anthology:
“Beautiful and brutal, dangerous and delicate, timeless and thrilling: words that describe both the Southwestern landscape and this amazing anthology from the Desert Sleuths. From pulse-pounding psychological suspense under a scorching sun to historical mystery and noir, these powerful stories cover all the substrata of crime fiction. Bring a canteen…you’ll be thirsty for more!” KELLI STANLEY, award-winning author of City of Secrets and The Curse-Maker
“Set in the blazing fury of the Arizona desert, this crime fiction anthology packs tremendous heat. From murdering spouses to snakes to monsoons and caves, you’ll find more suspense, action, and twists in Desert Justice than any other climate. Best to bring a cold drink when you start to read. I highly recommend it.” LIBBY FISCHER HELLMANN, author of the Nice Girl Does Noir collection and A Bitter Veil
“Reading SoWest: Desert Justice is like smacking open a piñata and having twenty engaging, enticing and enthralling stories rain down in their brilliant jewel-toned wrappers for a reader to snatch up and savor. This is an excellent collection of short stories by an abundantly talented group of writers. I enjoyed each and every story.” JENN McKINLAY, New York Times bestselling author
