Publishing Contract Signed!

logo image Fireship PressI’m delighted to announce that I’ve signed a publishing contract for Hand of Fire with Fireship Press, an outstanding small press that specializes in historical fiction. By coincidence they are based in Tucson, so I have the pleasure of getting to know the staff and working face to face on parts of this process. I’ll keep everyone posted as the timeline to publication starts solidifying. Right now I have until November 30th to get the manuscript editing completed and in to the press. Several amazingly generous and talented writers have been helping me with that process: Diane Benitez, Tinney Sue Heath, Bonnie Pike and Nancy Bilyeau. I was also thrilled to have renowned historian Eric Cline read my manuscript to check my historical accuracy. I’ll let his comment close this post:

“Absolutely loved the book. Couldn’t put it down. Wonderful writing. And, I see no errors whatsoever as regards the history.”

  2. Congratulations, Judith, on both the publication announcement and the verdict of your historian reader. No errors, wow! (I’m in awe.) Great news, and I can’t wait to read your book.

    Best wishes!

  4. Absolutely fabulous news! Dare I be greedy and ask if there is an e-reader version coming too? Do keep us posted on process. This is so exciting!

  5. Congratulations, Judith! This is my first time visiting your blog and it’s wonderful to stumble upon such amazing news. (I think there should be a saying similar to the “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings” except it’d be a writer version: “Every time a writer signs a publishing contract a muse soars…” or something to that effect!)
