I’m so pleased to be appearing at two Northern California book events this month. First up, a book festival in Manteca, California. Second, a reading/discussion with four other local authors in Davis, California. Here’s the information:
Great Valley Bookfest Saturday October 14, 10 am to 5 pm
This book festival transforms a giant parking lot into a festival of engaging activities and food. From the Great Valley BookFest website: “Dozens of authors will answer questions and sign books in “Authors’ Alley,” gourmet food trucks will line “Knosh Boulevard,” and the rest of the walkways will be filled with a wide variety of vendors.” There are tented stages for author presentations and writing workshops. “OUR MISSION for the Great Valley Bookfest is to create a family-friendly festival that celebrates literacy and promotes the written word in the heart of California’s Central Valley.”
I’ll be there selling my books and signing them with the actual seal of the historic Hittite queen who is the inspiration for the main character of my Tesha series. You’ll find me in one of the author booths with my fellow historical fiction author friend, Tim Schooley, with his novel The Wool Translator. For more about Tim’s excellent novel, you may read my review.
This sounds like a great event for the book lovers among you. If you live near enough to make the drive, I’d love to see you. Manteca is located east of San Francisco and San Jose, south of Sacramento and Stockton in the central valley. This is the perfect time of year for an outdoor day of book browsing and visiting with authors.
Avid Reader Bookstore Davis, October 17, 6-8pm
This will be a fun evening with five local authors briefly introducing and reading from their books on a diverse range of topics. Entertaining and engaging. I’ll talk about the Bronze Age world that inspires my fiction and read from Priestess of Ishana. I hope to see you there!
